About YD Group

YD Group is a design and development company providing planning, designing, drafting, permitting and other services. Our key specialty is ADU designing. We handle every step of the project on the client’s behalf, and strive to make their designing experience streamlined, as easy as possible, and free of unpleasant surprises.

Design Highlights

What makes our ADU offer stand out is its simplicity, ease of building, and the highly optimized use of the 750 sq. ft. space. Our primary goal was to satisfy the needs of both homeowners and future tenants, by optimizing backyard space, living space, material choice, and project difficulty.

We created an exceptionally practical design which is easy to implement, seamless in most backyards, and still presents a warm home, prioritizing quality of life over square footage. It brings the occupants a comfortable daily life, feels spacious and open, and at the same time remains just the right size to fit in an average backyard with room to spare.

The Interior

The interior highlights all elements of a joyful indoors experience - A compact kitchen space that doesn’t feel cut off from the living and leisure areas, a lot of room for social activity with family, friends and guests, and a well organized private space with neat corners for a wardrobe, personal belongings, and laundry.

The actual material finish is subject to the owner’s taste, and he is left with a lot of freedom to explore ideas and choose his ideal style. The ADU project also includes essential household appliances, ensuring it’s ready for occupancy within record time.

The Exterior

The exterior is very traditional and non-imposing. It doesn’t force a particular style on the owner and occupants. It’s very seamless by design, and blends in easily with other generic structures surrounding it. A personal style option is available in the form of switching the two big windows for wide sliding doors, with no structural changes.
